Dr. Dale Rodrigue was born and raised in Augusta, Maine. He graduated from South Florida, he was then accepted and
attended Illinois College of Optometry and graduated in 1982 with a Doctorate of Optometry, Cum Laude. He completed his
Optometric INternship at the Strawn Memorial Eye Clinic in Chicago. He has completed post doctorate work in glaucoma at
Brigham Women's Hospital and Harvard Medical School in Boston. His specialties and areas of interest are primary eye
care for all ages, low vision, diabetic eyes, and contact lenses. Dr. Rodrigue established his practice in Augusta, Maine
in 1982 and has been a part of the greater Kennebec community ever since. Dr. Rodrigue participates in community
screenings offered by MaineGeneral Medical Center and has served on the Maine Board of Diabetes. He has provided
internships for students with an interest in the field and speaks to school groups. Dr. Rodrigue is also a member of
the local Chamber of Commerce.
Dr. William Airey, Optometrist
Dr. Airey completed his
undergraduate education at Greenfield Community College, Greenfield, Massachusetts. He graduated from New England
College of Optometry in 1967. Dr Airey enlisted for active duty in th U. S. Army Medical Service Corps for 2 years.
After his service was completed, he entered into a private practice in Bangor, Maine in 1970 with the late Dr. Merlin
Rogers, OD through 2004. He is now practicing part time in Brewer and Augusta. Dr. Airey was active in the Maine
Optometric Association for 30 years, serving on the Board of Directors and a term as president for approximately 25
years. He also joined the Maine Air National Guard, serving as an optometrist in Bangor for approximately 8 years.
Dr. David Benes, Optometrist
David J. Benes, OD joins Rodrigue Eyecare
Center with an extensive background in the ophthalmic field. Having trained at Georgetown University Center For Sight, he
became nationally certified as an ophthalmic technician. Dr. Benes attended Ohio State University with studies in biology
prior to obtaining his doctorate in optometry. His training emphasized on primary eye care for the whole family. He
specializes in contact lens fittings, refractive corrections, diagnosis, management and treatment of ocular manifestations
of systemic diseases, glaucoma, diabetes, macular degeneration, anterior segment disease,as well as pre and post Lasik. He
is a member of the American Optometry Association, and Maine Optometric Association. Dr. Benes holds a Therapeutic
Advanced Glaucoma License in Maine and FDA certified in Refractive Therapy Correction.
Dr. Marc Daniels, M.D.
Dr. Daniels is a graduate of SUNY@ Albany Medical School, attended Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, Yale New Haven
Medical Center and taught at Hahnemann University Medical School in Philadelphia. He is board certified and completed a
fellowship in Retina.
Dr. John Burke, M.D
John Burke MD is a cum laude graduate of Dartmouth College majoring in Biology and honors graduate of Boston University
School of Medicine. Dr Burke trained for 3 years in Internal Medicine at Emory University Affiliated Hospitals in
Atlanta, Georgia and is board certified in Internal Medicine. He has practiced for the past 25 years in central Maine
and is the founding partner of MidMaine Internal Medicine.
Due to patient demand and interest in bringing the latest in technology to Maine, Dr Burke devoted several years
to research and continuing medical education to learn the latest in laser and dermatologic technology.
As a result, he developed Maine Laser Skin Care which is currently entering its 5th year.
